Texas Water Development Board Award
On February 17, 2010, The Texas Water Development Board presented the 2009 Rain Catcher Award in the Education/Government Category to the current 5th and 6th grade students for their involvement in the planning and execution of the water catchment system at the Hunt School. Forty students, along with teachers and some of the garden club members, traveled to Austin to receive the award.
**2010 Junior Master Garden Group Award**
The Junior Master Garden Group Award of 2010 was presented to the Hunt Garden Club and the Hunt School of West Kerr County at the Annual Master Gardeners Convention in Las Colimas on April 9, 2010. Accepting the award from left to right are Georgia Roth, Bernadell Larson Thompson, and Sandra Martin. Lisa Whittlesey, National Junior Master Gardener Coordinator of the Texas Agrilife Extension Service at Texas A&M University on the far right presented the award
The Hunt Garden Club provides scholarships each year to at least one deserving high School student attending a school in Kerrville, Ingram or Our Lady of the Hills. The student must have attended the Hunt School. The high school guidance counselor s will have applications for high school seniors seeking scholarship funds.
The Hunt Garden Club is a charitable and public education organization under IRS code section 501 C (3). Donations qualify for a tax donation under the IRS code. Donors can indicate their choice whether it be for scholarship, general, or the discovery gardens. Receipts will be sent to donors.
